Anyone Can Code is an educational platform built to make learning how to code accessible to everyone—regardless of background or experience. I was the sole designer on this project, responsible for the full design process from concept to final delivery.
To make the experience both inviting and intuitive, I designed a playful space-themed interface inspired by retro video games. Each lesson functioned as a “level,” complete with custom planets, characters, and interactive elements that encouraged exploration and confidence. The challenge was balancing high visual standards with a user-friendly experience.
The site included personalized UI elements, a custom learning map, and interactive previews to help new users overcome fear and dive into coding right away. Though the project was eventually paused due to funding, it remains one of my favorite examples of inclusive, gamified design.

Designing for Anyone Can Code meant making a complex learning platform feel welcoming, fun, and genuinely accessible to everyone—regardless of age, experience, or background. The biggest hurdles included:
Balancing aesthetics with function: The client had a strong vision and high visual standards, but every design choice also had to support usability and accessibility.
Delivering lots of information without overwhelming: Lessons, progress tracking, and navigation all had to be clearly presented without clutter.
Designing for inclusivity: We needed to ensure that learners from all over the world could use and enjoy the platform, so I conducted usability tests on different user types to refine the flow.

To meet these challenges, I created a gamified, space-themed interface that was both engaging and easy to navigate. Some highlights of the final outcome:
Custom visual system: I designed every visual element from scratch—from the logo and coding buddies to the interactive map and planets—ensuring brand coherence and a playful tone.
Clear structure with intuitive navigation: The site was designed like the inside of a spaceship, with panels clearly dividing content and maintaining a consistent hierarchy.
Onboarding through interaction: The homepage included a hands-on coding moment to break the ice and build confidence right away.
Inclusive user experience: Thanks to thorough research and testing, the interface supported a wide range of users, encouraging them to stay motivated and progress at their own pace.
While the project was eventually paused due to lack of funding, the platform succeeded in delivering a truly unique, empowering experience that made coding feel possible—and even fun—for everyone.
